Bio
I am a highly competent knowledge professional with a uniquely comprehensive view of the functioning and management of current information systems technology.
My area of subject expertise is medical information, including electronic health record systems, health science library technology, and consumer health and patient education.
I am a member of the Medical Library Association's Academy of Health Information Professionals. I also hold MLA Specializations in Consumer Health Information (Level II) and Disaster Infomation (Level II).
Technology
Building from a foundation of a bachelor of computer science degree, I have first-hand experience with all levels of computer operations, from systems programming and network management to user interface design. I have built on that base by earning a Master’s of Business Administration with focus on managing information systems. I updated my skills with a technical degree from Columbus State Community College in Web Development. I recently graduated from Kent State University (Ohio) with a Master's degree in Library and Information Science.

I am equally at home with system administration of UNIX, Windows or Apple operating systems, or with managing a network of Cisco routers. I can design a website from scratch with Adobe Creative Suite (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Flash) or via a Content Management System (WordPress, Joomla!, LibGuides, Wild Apricot, WIX, etc.). I can write an application in Java, Visual Basic or PHP and access data using Access, MySQL or Microsoft SQL Server.I have a wide variety of information systems management experience from non-profits, healthcare and education to telecom, banking and manufacturing. I offer a wealth of comprehensive technical understanding and business experience. Moreover, I can learn quickly, and teach clearly.
Employment
I am currently an independent consultant working with projects involving learning management systems and course development. As an Adjunct Instructor at Kent State University, I am developing courses and teaching in the new Medical Librarianship Concentration in the School of Information (iSchool).
